WELCOME TO COPPER HEIGHTS CHIROPRACTIC

We don’t really like surprises around here, so you can expect to know what happens each step of the way.

Whether you are brand new to chiropractic care or you are a seasoned patient – if you are new to our clinic we ask that you make a new patient appointment either online or by calling our clinic and speaking with Heather or Lori- two women that value kindness and will assist you with any questions or concerns you have prior to your first visit.

Next, you will receive a welcome email prior to your first visit that will include your new patient paperwork- we ask that you fill this out in advance as this helps us get to know your history better and will be reviewed by your doctor prior to your first visit.

Upon arriving for your first visit you will be greeted with a warm smile and will enjoy a welcoming environment until your visit begins.

In your first visit you can expect a comprehensive assessment so your chiropractor can understand your health history, current concerns, and goals for treatment. Dr. Jordan or Dr. Kendra will conduct a physical exam which may include orthopedic tests, range of motion assessments, and postural analysis. We will discuss your symptoms, lifestyle factors, and any previous treatments you have tried.

After the evaluation, we’ll explain our findings and discuss our best plan of action in getting you to your goals. This plan may include chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue therapy, exercises, and lifestyle recommendations aimed at improving your overall health and well being.

Throughout the process, we encourage open communication and will address any questions or concerns you may have. Our goal is to provide you with the highest quality of care to help you achieve optimal health and function. Our doctors prioritize spending quality time with each patient in our clinic, ensuring you never feel rushed during your visit.

  • Chiropractic is the healthcare profession that focuses on optimizing the body’s ability to function better and heal itself by removing interference from the nervous system. Doctors of Chiropractic use no medications or surgeries, rather, they apply gentle and specific adjustments to misalignments within the spine and other joints in the body, easing tension of the body and restoring the brain/body connection.

  • What does the term “real doctor” even mean? A doctor is someone who specializes in the healing arts, a physician who holds an advanced degree and a license to practice, a person who is qualified to care for patients who are sick or injured. So yes, by definition and scope of practice, chiropractors are in fact real doctors. Doctors of Chiropractic obviously differ in many ways from Medical doctors, but much of the education is very similar. Hours spent studying the anatomy and function of the human body is almost identical. The knowledge that the body has the innate ability to self heal is shared in both professions. The biggest difference between the doctor of medicine and the doctor of chiropractic are the tools they use; MDs use pharmaceuticals to make changes within the body, DCs use specific adjustments to the joints of the body.

  • The short and sweet answer is: Yes, chiropractic adjustments are safe. Chiropractors offer a holistic and safe treatment for a variety of injuries and ailments and make it easier for your body to heal naturally. Compared to other types of more invasive treatment, like surgery or prescription medications, chiropractic care is generally viewed as a safer approach to health care. Records from insurance and court cases have consistently shown that chiropractic is the safest portal of entry health care available to the public today. Although no healthcare procedure is 100% without risk, chiropractic’s record of safety and effectiveness is unmatched in healthcare. The chiropractic adjustment is safe and gentle which is performed nearly one million times every working day in the US. Chiropractic care is non invasive, therefore the body’s response to chiropractic care is far more predictable than its reaction to reactions to drug treatments or surgical procedures. Of the nearly one million adjustments given every day in this country, complications are exceedingly rare. The gentle and specific nature of the chiropractic adjustment ensures safety from the newborn baby all the way to the elderly patient.

  • It is important to be checked for spinal alignment by a chiropractor as misalignments will often interfere with the body’s function and do not always present with pain. The spine is the lifeline to the body. The brain must communicate properly to every organ, muscle, gland, and tissue in order to regulate the function. The brain does this through spinal nerves that exit between vertebrae and travel to their target tissues. Since less than 20% of nerves actually carry pain signals, one can have altered communication along a section of the other 80% of the pathways and not have a hint of discomfort. Additionally, pain commonly results from one part of the body compensating for another part that is not functioning properly. In addition to causing pain and restricted motion, spinal misalignments interfere with the regulatory signals to the body from the brain which can predispose the body to dysfunction, pain, and further problems. If all we did was address pain, we would never find the cause.

  • Offering a pay per visit options aligns with our focus on patient-centered care, provides flexibility (our goal is to get every patient to a place of maintenance care where the body has healed from needing more frequent adjustments and it can go longer between visits), affordability, transparency, and tailored treatment options to meet individual needs.

  • The active release technique (ART) is a specialized hands on treatment method used to relieve tight muscles, improve range of motion, and alleviate pain. During an ART session, the practitioner applies specific pressure and movement to targeted areas of the body while the patient actively participates in moving the affected area. This technique aims to break up scar tissue, release muscle/nerve adhesions, and restore proper function to the muscles and surrounding tissues. Overall, ART promotes better mobility, reduces pain, and enhances athletic performance.

  • Prenatal chiropractic care is generally considered safe for both expectant mothers and their babies. Chiropractors who specialize in prenatal care undergo extensive training to ensure the safety and well being of both the mother and the baby during treatment. The techniques used are gentle and tailored to accommodate the unique needs of pregnant women. Additionally, chiropractors are trained to avoid high velocity adjustments and focus on gentle, low force techniques that are safe for both mother and baby. Many pregnant women find chiropractic care beneficial for relieving common discomforts associated with pregnancy such as back pain, pelvic pain, headaches, and sciatica.

  • Most people will associate chiropractors with the TikToks and Instagram reels that showcase the loud adjustments which seems like too much for a little one- that's because IT IS.

Chiropractic care for infants and kids is different from adult adjustments. Yes, the goals may be the same- to improve function and overall wellness, but the approach is different. Adjustments are often attained with a press and hold approach (the press is about as much pressure as you would check a tomato for ripeness), instead of impulse and rarely cause a sound.

Fetal development, maternal anatomy, and labor and delivery can have profound impacts on a baby's function outside of the womb. We can all agree that labor is hard on a mama but it is also important to assess the impact labor and delivery has on a baby as well:

-Was there a prolonged or quick pushing experience during delivery?

-How was your baby positioned in the womb- was there a breech presentation?

-Were forceps, vacuum, or manual assist utilized during delivery?

-Was it a vaginal or caesarian birth?

These are a few of the things that impact overall wellness, tension, alignment, and the nervous system of babies and their function post birth- luckily- chiropractors can assess and provide safe and gentle care for both mom and baby.
